Components That Make Car Safe

There has been a growing interest, over the years, in safety driving. Various experiments have been conducted by auto manufacturers and government agencies to make sure that cars are safe to drive. Elaborate and tested safety gears have also been invented to ensure drivers and passengers safety. Airbags, stability management system, seatbelts and anti-lock breaks are some these standard safety features that are required to be installed in cars.

The two basic types of car safety system are the "active safety system" and the "passive safety system." The active safety systems are devices created to avoid accidents. These are usually composed of anti-lock brakes, stability systems and traction control. The anti-lock brakes automatically pump the brake and allow steering under emergency braking. Stability systems detect if a car is sliding out of control. It monitors the car’s speed, steering wheel angle and others to find out if the vehicle is heading in its proper direction. The traction control system is built to lessen wheels slip during acceleration.

The passive car safety system, meanwhile, is composed of airbags and seatbelts among others. Seatbelts are considered the foundation of the passive safety system. Airbags and seatbelt should work together. These devices protect the passengers from getting injured during an accident.
